Normal
After reading an article entitled “RESPECT on Tracy Emin from the Daily Telegraph Magazine October 8th 2005 (Magazines tend to sit on our kitchen table for quite a while).

I was struck by how focused the article was on how normal she is. Whether this was her thought or that of the interviewer (Martin Gayford), it was a large feature of the article.
This made me think of how many people perceive that artists aren’t normal, which in turn made me think about how the artists are always thought of as being a little bit eccentric or is it that they are just more confident, stylish, and individual.
Is there such a thing as normal anyway?
Or does the artistic mind just have a unique spark to it?
Van Gough cut off his ear, Grace and Perry wears doll like dresses but I can’t see what causes Tracy Emin to cause so much controversy, as other artist do more controversial work?
